Daughter's charity challenge for 'incredible' Weston Hospicecare

A Weston-super-Mare woman will be taking on a popular fundraiser in memory of her father, who died six months after being diagnosed with cancer.
Kelly Holbrook will complete Weston Hospicecare’s Midnight Beach Walk in memory of Clive Day, who died at the hospice in 2009.
Kelly, aged 47, has completed several Midnight Beach Walks since her father’s death and was excited to learn the walk had returned for 2016 after a three-year gap.
She told the Mercury: “We were really well supported as a family and my dad received incredible care from the staff.
“We could visit Dad at any time and he had a lovely room overlooking St Nicholas’ Church at Uphill.
“When registrations opened (for this year’s walk) it was near Father’s Day, and that prompted me to sign up – it was the perfect time to do something for the hospice and remember Dad at the same time.
“I take part on my own and everyone talks to each other and it’s a really uplifting event – a lovely, supportive and fun night.”
The women-only 5km walk will take place along Weston’s seafront at midnight on September 10.
