A DEAD fox with its tail missing was dumped on the doorstep of a Somerset animal charity.

A DEAD fox with its tail missing was dumped on the doorstep of a Somerset animal charity.

The discovery was made this morning (Thurs) outside Secret World Wildlife Rescue in East Huntspill.

The tail had been cut off after the animal had died - which is a hunting tradition. It also looked as if it had been stamped on.

Founder Pauline Kidner said: "We abhor these people who think we will be stopped in our fight against cruelty in the countryside by doing such a sick act.

"The member of staff who found the animal was very upset and the fact someone has killed such a beautiful animal in prime condition just to make a point shows just how sick these people are."

Anyone with information about the incident should ring police or Secret World on 01278 783250.
