A WELL-known Backwell councillor has died after serving the village for almost 20 years.
Robert Llewellyn, aged 81, was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary on January 25 at 6pm after feeling unwell, but he died just five hours later.
Robert lived in Backwell all his life and was a keen member of the bowls club and the Royal British Legion and a much loved character in the village.
Backwell Parish Council clerk Jane Stone said: "He had been a councillor for almost 20 years and his knowledge of the village was invaluable. He will be sadly missed.
