A gym instructor from Congresbury took part in a gruelling 15-hour spin cycling challenge in aid of a special care baby unit.

Debi Lough from theclub at Cadbury House joined the challenge alongside other club members and instructors at the Frost Hill club from 7am-10pm on Tuesday, to raise money for the St Michael’s Special Baby Care Unit in Bristol.

Debi decided to raise money for the unit after being inspired by her friend Jane Tucker, whose baby son Jack died after being born 26 weeks premature in 2003.

She said: “To hear what Jane and her family went through and to see what she has done is very inspiring.”
