A HIGHBRIDGE teenager was described as 'an example to others' after receiving a police youth award last week.
Faye Leatherby, aged 17, was one of the winners at this year’s Avon and Somerset Children and Young Person’s Awards last Thursday for her community work.
The Bridgwater College student joined the Highbridge Youth Club in 2009, and has given up her Friday evenings to supervise and participate with the youngsters who attend.
This year she entered the group in the Highbridge carnival, and worked on a dance routine, theme music and costumes for the youngsters, and has been described as being ‘instrumental’ in the running of the club.
She said: “I want to thank everyone who supported me. I love getting involved with the community because I get something out of it and so do they.”
