A WESTON couple have moved one step closer to their dream of becoming parents - thanks to a man who has offered to become a sperm donor.The 26-year-old woman and her 38-year-old partner have tried unsuccessfully to conceive for almost two years.After visiting a fertility clinic in Bristol, the married couple were told they needed to find a sperm donor for artificial inseminationThey contacted the Weston & Somerset Mercury to try to find a donor aged between 18 and 40 because there is currently a shortage at fertility clinics.The couple were overjoyed when a 38-year-old Weston man called to say he would like to donate samples to help them.The female cashier, who wishes not to be named, said: "We were delighted when we had the call from the man."He lives in Weston and we're going to meet to discuss the arrangements. It's become really hard to find donors through clinics and we were advised to go along this route."The whole IVF route is really expensive as well, so we're really pleased that someone has come forward to donate."The woman will go to the Bristol clinic to be artificially inseminated after receiving the sample.
