Developer reveals plan for 83 new houses

PERSIMMON Homes has unveiled plans to build more than 80 homes near Yatton Rugby Club.

The developer revealed its plans to the public last week and put its case forward for a new housing development in the village.

It wants to build 83 houses off Moor Road, near Grange Farm Road.

Persimmon would build a variety of two, three and four-bedroom homes, and make 30 per cent of them affordable houses, if given the go-ahead.

It says by building extra homes in the village it would ‘contribute positively to the economy of the local area’.

It also plans to plant an orchard and hedges to make the site attractive.

Persimmon’s scheme is the latest in a series of proposed developments in Yatton.

Last July Bloor Homes was given planning permission for 150 houses off Arnolds Way and Hallam Land Management Ltd wants to build a further 170 on the opposite side of the road.

Redrow has also come forward with plans for 51 homes off North End Road but like Persimmon Homes, it has yet to apply to North Somerset Council for planning permission.
