Developers ponder new 185-home plan

A COMPANY is considering applying for planning permission for a 185-house development in a North Somerset village.

Tuckerwood Developments is looking at the land at Woodborough Farm, in Woodborough Road, in Winscombe.

The firm’s bosses have asked North Somerset Council whether they must submit an environmental impact assessment before formally applying for planning permission later this year.

A letter submitted to the council by property advisors GVA says: “We believe the site has significant potential to deliver a major contribution towards the council’s housing target.

“Tuckerwood Developments is committed to delivering 
the scheme at the earliest opportunity if planning permission were to be forthcoming.

“The site’s proximity to a range of local facilities in Winscombe village centre contributes greatly to the long term sustainability of the development proposal and ability for the new residents to integrate into and contribute to the existing community.”
