Police and firefighters were called out after a fire broke out at an agricultural barn this afternoon (Sunday).

Firefighters from Burnham-on-Sea, Cheddar, Wells and Bridgwater were called to Holwell Lane in Cheddar just after 1.45pm.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Upon arrival, crews found a small fire in the roof area of the barn.

“The fire was extinguished using one main jet, and cutting equipment.

“The fire caused damage to wooden floor joists within the building.

“The incident was later handed over to the police.”
