Four fire crews tackled a blaze last night (Sunday), as fire spread from a garden gazebo to a house.
Two teams from Burnham-on-Sea, with assistance from crews from Cheddar and Bridgwater, were mobilised to reports of a fire in Burnham’s Brent Road at 9.38pm.
With the inferno from the gazebo spreading to the house, firefighters snuffed out the flames to limit the damage.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews got to work with one hose reel jet and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
“The fire was quickly knocked back and it appeared the fire was involving a gazebo that was spreading to the extension of the property.
“Crews put the fire out and confirmed the cause as accidental.
“The property was damaged by the fire but the fire was prevented from spreading. Duty of care was left with the occupants”
