A group of people who work tirelessly to support Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) raised £3,000 for the charity in one night.

The CHSW Weston-super-Mare Friends Group hosted a dinner at Weston College’s Knightstone Campus, where the evening meal was produced and served by college students.

The event celebrated the 10th anniversary of care being provided at CHSW’s Charlton Farm in Wraxall, which provides a secluded setting for families to spend time together.

The friends’ dinner saw 117 guests enjoy a meal before hearing a speech from toastmaster Tony Rance and enjoying live music from some of the college’s students.

Pam Airey, from the friends group, said: “The group would like to express their thanks to all the sponsors for their generosity, which means that the whole £3,084 raised will go directly to CHSW.”

She also thanked the college’s principal Dr Paul Phillips and its staff for supporting the event.
