ANOTHER discount retailer could be set to move to Weston next year.
The Mercury understands that B&M Retail Ltd is interested in moving into the former MFI store in Marchfields Way, and that a move could be announced next year.
The retailer opened its first store in Blackpool in 1976, and currently has more than 230 stores and 7,000 staff across the country.
A spokesman for the store, which offers house ware, clothes, electrical goods and other items at discount prices, confirmed to the Mercury that the firm was interested in moving to Weston, but added that nothing had been signed or confirmed yet.
The proposed move follows moves by both the 99p Stores and Poundland into the resort’s town centre earlier this year.
