A RAUNCHY advertising campaign by massage parlour bosses has been condemned as 'obscene'.Residents living near Emmanuelle's massage parlour in Baker Street, Weston, are outraged that cards advertising the club are being handed out around the town. The credit-card size adverts for Emmanuelle's showing women dressed in revealing lingerie are being given out to revellers in Weston, according to one furious resident.Dozens of the cards have been found on a street near the parlour and residents say they suspect glammed-up girls are touring the town's nightspots to drum up business.According to the cards, clients are promised 'discreet and unhurried massage. Satisfaction guaranteed'. The card also says there is a 'good selection of girls'.The controversial massage parlour opened in April on the site of a former dog grooming salon.Householders and community leaders are calling for the business to be shut down because it is in a residential neighbourhood just yards from a primary school. One resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "This card is blatant and it screams sex."We know two girls are giving these cards out and have seen them leaving the parlour at about 11pm from Thursday-Saturday."When people see that card, I wonder how many think they will be offered more than a massage? "We have heard they are going to pubs and clubs. People who take the card are also promised a free drink when they go to the massage parlour. So that means people who have probably already been drinking are going to arrive at the massage parlour late at night. The whole thing is obscene."What about the families who live in the area?"The Weston Mercury contacted Emmanuelle's co-owner Kaye Laker but she declined to make a comment.NORTH Somerset Council's environmental health officers have also been clamping down on the parlour. The massage parlour bosses have been forced to shut the main entrance in Wooler Road after 10.30pm because of complaints of noise and light disturbance from residents.Customers now have to use the Baker Street entrance instead.
