IT TOOK just 60 minutes for 1,000 people to collect their wristbands to become the first visitors to Banksy's Dismaland exhibition.

People queued through the night for their chance to be the first inside the street artist’s show at the Tropicana in Weston-super-Mare.

New works by Banksy are on display alongside a number of other artists, including Damien Hirst.

The Mercury printed a voucher to provide 1,000 free tickets to the locals-only day on Thursday.

Visitors described it as an ‘opportunity not to be missed’ after they spent several hours walking around the site and enjoying the art on offer.

Dismaland will also host a number of musical events and Massive Attack have already been confirmed, to be headlining on September 25 alongside Kate Tempest and Pussy Riot.
