A SIX-YEAR-OLD DJ is hoping to spin his way into the record books. In April the Weston & Somerset Mercury exclusively revealed how young Jack Hill had been mixing up records since the age of three and how he was preparing to run children's discos at the Nook and Harbour in Knightstone Road.Since then the Walliscote Primary School pupil has appeared in the national press and is now planning on setting a new Guinness world record for being the youngest DJ ever.Jack's dad, 42-year-old Bob, has been running Weston Karaoke and Disco for five years and has also been responsible for the tunes in numerous venues across town. He thinks his work is part of the reasons for Jack's flair for music.Bob said: "After his gig at the Nook and Harbour Jack made the headlines as Britain's youngest DJ so it prompted me to check the Guinness world record books. At the moment the youngest is aged eight. "Guinness is currently processing Jack's claim and we hope to hear soon."If this record attempt is unsuccessful we already have plans for a new attempt at a nightclub in Weston where Jack will headline the event."But he will only be allowed to play the first set from 8-10pm because of his age.
