A Worle woman is setting herself the challenge of writing a book about Weston’s theatre – but is calling on the town to share their memories of The Playhouse.

Samantha Ball, aged 28, has always had a passion for writing and for theatre, and so is combining her two loves.

The Playhouse Theatre, in High Street, will celebrate its 50th anniversary since re-opening after a devastating fire in 2019 and Samantha is hoping she can coincide the release of her book with this.

She said: “I kept the idea to myself for a while as I wondered whether working full time as well, I would be able to do it.

“But I have spent a lot of time in the library researching and I would love to hear about people’s memories of the theatre.”
