A YEAR-round ban on dogs walking on Weston Beach has been dropped by North Somerset Council.Canines will now only be banned from the area between the Grand Pier and Royal Sands from May 1 to September 30.A dog control order banning pooches and their owners from the beach was introduced in April but was met with fierce opposition.Dog owners staged a number of protest marches in a bid to get the ban overturned.The decision to amend the control order was taken at a council meeting on Tuesday.Rangers employed by the authority will continue to police the ban.
