DOG walkers may no longer be able to take their pets for a trot around Clevedon's Marine Lake - if new laws come into force.North Somerset Council is considering introducing new bylaws as part of the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act.Under the new regulations, the authority is considering banning dogs from Marine Lake, Clevedon, from all school grounds and any enclosed play area.In Easton-in-Gordano and Pill, dogs could be banned from Hardwick Road playing fields, the parish council football pitch at Macrae Road and The Orchard at Watchhouse Hill.New rules banning dogs from the sports field at Bristol Road, Portishead, are also being requested as well as a bylaw ensuring dogs are kept on a lead at all times at the Lake Grounds.In Yatton, proposals have been put forward to ban dogs completely from the Rock Road and Hangstones playing fields.Anyone caught flouting the order can be fined up to £1,000 or be given a fixed penalty notice of £75.The new bylaws have now gone out to consultation and people wanting to comment on the changes have until January 31 to have their say by writing to Darren Fairchild, North Somerset Council, Somerset House, Oxford Street, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1TG.
