Dog given new lease of life

AN ELDERLY dog has been given a new lease of life and a new home thanks to staff at Langford Veterinary Services (LVS).

Staff at LVS, which is part of the University of Bristol, were asked to help jack russell terrier Bruno by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The 10-year-old dog was suffering with a perineal hernia which had caused problems with his digestive system, and was successfully operated on by the university’s senior clinical training scholar Peter Delisser in a procedure that would have cost the charity £2,000 had it been carried out privately.

And Bruno made such an impression on clinical veterinary science student Laura Soden that she will take him home after he has recovered from the surgery and she has finished her final year exams.
