A SOMERSET farm flung open its barn doors on Sunday to let people learn all about farm life.

Maundrils Farm in West Huntspill let youngsters and families watch cows being milked, get hands on with tractors and enjoy tours.

The free open day also saw talks given including by a vet and information from farm owners Joe and Rachel Horler about what farm life is like.

The day was part of a national event held every year which sees farms up and down the country open for visitors to raise awareness of farming.

Mr Horler said: “It was a very popular day, we had more than 150 people. A lot of people loved the baby animals and the livestock.

“It’s something we have done before and I can’t see why we wouldn’t do it again. I want to say a big thanks to all the volunteers who helped out.”
