A DRAMA group in Somerset that is looking to attract new members and performers is holding an open day on Saturday.
West Huntspill Players is celebrating 40 years by putting on a programme of activities to tempt new members into joining.
The club was founded in 1973 and has produced an average of two plays per year since. It has around 35 active members.
Its productions have spanned everything from Charles Dickens to Noel Coward, focusing on light-hearted comedies.
Member Jacqui Strong said: “Saturday’s event has been organised to encourage new members and to raise the profile of this long-standing drama group.
“We are interested in hearing from performers and those who would be willing to assist back stage during performances.”
The day will start with a lighting introduction, followed by voice projection skills, wardrobe and props, ending with a history of the club and a demonstration of how the stage works.
There will also be videos of past shows, photos and press cuttings as well as refreshments.
The day will be held at the Balliol Hall in Church Road from 10am-2pm.
