MOTORCYCLISTS have been involved in 19 crashes on the A370 in the past three years, prompting a new road safety campaign.
Signs will be put up along the busy route between Weston and Backwell in an effort to remind drivers to keep a look out for bikers.
Five of the accidents have involved serious injuries or a fatality.
Council deputy leader Elfan Ap Rees said: “As part of our work with representatives from our motorcycle forum and the West of England Road Safety Partnership we are looking to improve safety for motorcyclists.
“This work includes both physical and education measures - for example anti-skid manhole covers, free commuter motorcycle training, free rural motorcycle training, among more general motorcycle safety advice to mention a few.”
A total of 13 signs, with the words ‘Think Bike’ on them, will be place along the A370.
