Drugs bust after public report ‘strong smells’

PUBLISHED: 13:30 06 January 2012

THOUSANDS of pounds’ worth of drugs were seized by police in a raid in Weston just before Christmas.

Nine large cannabis plants which police said would have realised a value of thousands of pounds were found at a property in Carousel Lane in Weston Village.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and released on bail.

The warrant was executed after police received reports from the public about a strong smell of cannabis in the area.

PC Andy Vallender said he was keen to hear from the public about other cannabis factories and if anyone has information, they should call 101.
