A MOTHER who was accused of dropping a toddler face first on the ground while drunk has been handed her punishment.Police were called by passers-by who saw Mandy Davis-Jones, of Bristol Road Lower, Weston, drop a child on his head while crossing Farm Road on September 29 last year.The 44-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to the charge of being drunk in charge of a child under seven, and was subsequently found guilty by magistrates of taking a swipe at one female officer and kicking another. Police were called after two eyewitnesses decided to do something for the 'child's safety.'Davis-Jones appeared at North Somerset Courthouse in St Georges on June 1 and she was given a 12 month community order with a supervision requirement and was ordered to pay £250 costs and £200 compensation.
