Two men cycled more than 300 miles in Weston-super-Mare High Street to raise money for Children's Hospice South West on Saturday.

Mike Allen and Darryl Galbraith completed an exhausting 10-hour cycle challenge to raise the vital funds for the charity.

The duo were set up on stationary bikes outside Boots from 10am until 6pm and asked people to support their efforts.

The pair have raised £1,021 so far, with donations still coming in.

Mike told the Mercury the ride went ‘smoothly and painfully’ as they were still aching days later.

He added: “We are over the moon with the amount we raised and so grateful for the generosity of everyone who walked past and donated.”

The boys will be completing a gruelling 205-mile ride between the three hospice bases in Wraxall, Barnstaple and St Austell with 125 other riders in July.
