A DUO will cycle from one end of the country to the other in aid of two charities close to their hearts.

Christian Crawfurd and Michael Parsons will cycle from Lands End to John O’ Groats in July.

Mr Crawfurd, aged 30, is cycling to raise funds for Magpies Cancer Care, which is supporting his sister’s boyfriend as he battles against a brain tumour.

Mr Parsons, aged 26, will cycle in aid of the Great Western Air Ambulance. He was in a car crash in 2006 which killed his girlfriend Beth and left him with serious head injuries.

He was airlifted to hospital by the air ambulance and now wants to repay the organisation by raising funds for it.

The former Churchill Secondary School pupils, who both used to live in Blagdon but are now in Bristol, came up with the idea of cycling the length of the country over a pint at the New Inn.
