The award-winning eat:Weston has grown again with more than 85 of the South West’s finest food and drink vendors due to serve up their produce on Saturday.

Visitors can expect farmers’ market favourites such as high-quality beef and lamb, beers and cheeses alongside speciality teas, gourmet marshmallows, chilli oils and Guernsey ice cream.

Anyone needing inspiration on what to cook with their purchases can head over to The Gallery in the Sovereign Centre at 11am for the Retreat Demo Stage.

Amy Nancollis from Oak and Glass Catering will be first up at 11am with her demonstration helping cooks on a budget.

Phil Blake will then get into the kitchen at noon followed by the School Chef Steve Fowell.

The executive head chef at Lasseter’s, Dave Newman, will round-up the demonstrations at 2pm with a mouth-watering recipe.

People can then put their skills to the test at the Hawksmoor Cookery School on the Italian Gardens lawns, where chefs will teach visitors how to make sushi.

Co-organiser Bev Milner Simonds said: “We are really pleased with the line-up of traders and the great range of festival activities planned for our fourth festival in Weston.

“The positivity from visitors and local businesses about this event spurs us on to get more creative and include more and more free elements.

“This would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and partners, Weston Town Council and of course our volunteer stewards.

“I am looking forward to welcoming the primary producers and livestock who help us tell the story of the connection between the countryside which surrounds us, food production and the amazing range of produce on sale at the festival.”

Co-organiser Sarah Milner Simonds said: “We have made a few tweaks this time, like increasing the number of free-from and vegan choices available, plus our low priced street food options.”
