1,000 parents taught about maths at Priory Community School

More than 1,000 parents and carers visited a Worle school last week with one aim in mind – to learn more about maths.
Teachers from Priory Community School’s maths department met more than 1,000 people in a week to talk to them about the subject.
The aim was to give parents the confidence to help their children with maths homework outside of school.
It is often seen as a complicated subject, and parents do not always feel confident about explaining the different rules to their children.
Throughout the week, the school hall was filled with parents and students, who learned more about how exams and assessments work, and how they can learn at home.

Staff were on hand at the school, in Queensway, to provide advice and tips.
They all received a bottle of wine as a thank you for their hard work.
