PUPILS, parents and staff at Hutton Primary School enjoyed a trenches tea party to commemorate the 100th anniversary of World War One.
The whole school joined together to celebrate the end of two weeks spent learning all about the conflict and life 100 years ago. Pupils had visits from local historians and Royal British Legion members, as well as visiting the village memorial and the Legion Room in Hutton Village Hall.
Parents helped the children with their homework by finding out about their family’s involvement in the war, with some fascinating discoveries.
At the tea party celebrations, all pupils joined in with songs and poetry from the era. The event raised £138 for the Royal British Legion.
