WORLE youngsters got a taste of fame when they appeared on TV – and hope to get the chance once more next month.

The two choirs of St Mark’s Primary School were filmed by ITV news just before Christmas due to their performance at Wells Cathedral.

The cameras showed up at the school, in St Mark’s Road, and recorded the small 15-person choir and the large 50-person choir.

The choirs also performed at the Ebdon Arms to entertain a group who deal with Alzheimer’s disease.

Headteacher Helen Bath said: “We walked all of the children to the Ebdon Arms and were welcomed by all there.

“We are hoping to do another show on February 6 linked with the Wear Red Day to help fight heart disease and are hoping to be filmed for that too.”
