A WESTON school’s pupils had their heads in the clouds this week when they were given an aeroplane experience.
Classrooms at Bournville Primary School in Selworthy Road were set up to look like the inside of an aeroplane on Monday while a corridor was designed to look like an Asian country.
Year three and four children were taken through a mock passport control and customs check procedure before boarding the ‘plane’ and being talked through a flight experience by teacher Gary Tucker, who dressed as a pilot for the day.
Then when the flight ended, pupils were taken to a corridor decorated like Bangladesh before being served traditional Bangladeshi cuisine.
School manager Jo Clarke said: “A lot of these children don’t have the opportunity to go on an aeroplane for real, so that’s where this idea came from.
“They really enjoyed the experience.”
