ROCK climbing, boxercise and archery were just some of the activities students at a Cheddar school took part in during an arts and sports taster day.

Year nine pupils at Kings of Wessex School studying the two subjects also got the chance to try out spinning, trampolining, street and Indian dancing, circus arts and kite building.

Science students also enjoyed a visit from Thales, world leader in mission-critical information systems for defence and security, aerospace and transportation.

During the day students learned about building radios, bridges and telescopes and other technical challenges.
