STUDENTS got a taste of opera from a one-day workshop with a professional team from the Welsh National Opera.
Pupils from Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College created an original mini opera inspired by Die Fledermaus, which involved a mixture of music, songs and lyrics composed by the pupils themselves along with drama pieces depicting the tale of Die Fledermaus with romance and deceit.
At the end of the day the 180 students performed live alongside the Welsh National Opera cast to parents, carers and school governors.
Xanne Blythe, partnership manager of extended services, said: “This is an exciting and educational opportunity for students to explore their creative potential and experience live music making with a world class company.”
