Children in a North Somerset village enjoyed a taste of life at Hogwarts when their community library celebrated the annual Harry Potter book

The much-loved stories of JK Rowling’s boy wizard were celebrated during a fun event at Yatton Library.

Children were able to dress up as their favourite characters from the series and tried their hands at a range of spells and tricks throughout the evening.

Alongside being able to read the books, aspiring witches and wizards were also encouraged to get creative with a range of craft activities on offer.

The event, which is now in its third year, is designed to celebrate all things Potter and to help introduce the books to the next generation of young readers.

Community librarian Sophia Richards said: “Here in North Somerset we have always been fans of the Harry Potter books because they are such a good read and are enjoyed by so many children.”
