Children from a North Somerset village were given the chance to explore the district’s wilderness and learn about the woodland at an activity day during the half-term holidays.

The Congresbury Youth Partnership took a group of young people to a YMCA day camp at Barley Wood House, in Wrington, which is owned by YMCA Somerset Coast.

The day camp gave the youngsters the chance to take part in activities such as den-making, outdoor adventure games and craft making.

They also used natural materials to make a shelter in the middle of the forest surrounding Barley Wood.
