AN ACADEMY will be partially-closed on Tuesday due to teachers taking strike action.

The Kings Of Wessex Academy in Station Road, Cheddar, will close to year nine and 10 students on Tuesday.

It is as a result of industrial action being taken by teacher unions to reduce staff workloads.

Year 12 students will be able to attend as normal, and where there are no lessons, they are expected to continue with private studies.

The planned geography and chemistry visit to Iceland for sixth form students and the year nine design and technology trip to Legoland will go ahead as planned.

The academy will be open as normal on Wednesday.
