The 36 IT pupils from The Kings Of Wessex Academy visited some of the world’s most famous companies including Google and Intel at Silicon Valley.

They also went to the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz prison.

While there, they went on a guided tour and learned about prison life on the island.

Trip leader Mrs Nethercote said: “I am happy that students have had the opportunity to see where careers in IT and computing can take them and I hope that they have come back with a renewed interest in IT and feel inspired by the people we have met.”
