Key stage two children from Sandford Primary School have wowed four capacity audiences with their performances of Treasure Island.

Children aged seven to 11 put on a fun-packed musical based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, first published in 1883.

There were many stand-out performances from the children, while the scenery, programs and backgrounds were designed by pupils and allowed those who are dab hands back stage to be a crucial part of the overall production.

Teacher Tony Donovan said: “The audience left the school humming the tunes from the show and sharing anecdotes about their favourite characters.

“Can the success of this show be replicated next year? Knowing Sandford primary, I’m sure that it will.”
