Year four students at St Georges Primary School ditched their uniform in favour of togas and armour as they fully embraced the ancient culture.

The pupils have been studying ancient Greece and finish the topic with a Greek-themed day.

The class teacher, Nicola Bryant, said: “They had the opportunity to make honey cakes – a recipe that might have been used in Ancient Greece and plan a day’s menu using ingredients available in Ancient Greece.

“The children designed and made Greek masks and had the opportunity to act out Greek myths.”
