STUDENTS at one primary school in Weston-super-Mare have hatched plans to become authors thanks to an inspiring visit by one children’s writer.

Mary Evans visited St Georges Primary School to meet its budding writers and talk about her book Story Stew.

Mary held a session and talk in front of the whole school on September 24 and then led individual sessions with separate classes on Thursday.

The school’s English leader Emma Muff said: “Mary’s enthusiasm and passion for creative writing rubbed off on all the children with a whole school launch and then workshops for every class.

“Mary also signed copies of her books after school, which were so popular she sold every last one.

“The children are now all looking forward to writing fantastic stories, inspired by Mary, and becoming authors themselves.”
