YEAR nine students at Kings of Wessex School in Cheddar enjoyed a visit from author Steve Voake.

Mr Voake offered tips on creative writing and discussed his work with the students, who were ‘grateful’ for some ‘exciting insights’ into the world of literature.

In addition, Mr Voake also spoke about his inspiration, writing process, illustrations and covers for his books and translations, as his stories have been translated into Japanese. Mr Voake described the planning and drafting processes he undertakes when writing a new story.

He then read from a selection of his best books and answered questions from the audience.
