A SCHOOL has been handed an award for its effectiveness in handling student health issues.

Priory Community School has been handed a Healthy Schools Plus status after identifying and addressing some of the issues pupils face.

The academy has been given £1,000 and a logo, which it can display around the Queensway school in Worle.

South West Healthy Schools Plus organised studies of local health and education partnerships in order to develop strategies to achieve improvements in health and well-being.
