STUDENT barbers sculpted some interesting styles as they competed to earn a place in a national competition.
The 14 Weston College barbering students had to create a mood board outlining their ideas for a particular style, and then work with a model to bring the haircut to life.
The new looks included the contemporary short-back-and-sides, looks from the 1920s and 1950s, futuristic creations and even a style for Batman.
The chance to compete in the Barber Connect competition, to be held at the Celtic Manor resort near Newport, South Wales, was won by 17-year-old Lewis Bull, who worked on a style inspired by the film Grease.
Photographs of Lewis’s work will now be submitted to competition organisers who will decide if he can enter the prestigious final featuring professional barbers from across the UK.
