A school cleaner described as ‘wonderful’ and ‘a diamond’ by colleagues has retired after more than 30 years of service.

Denise Lee, aged 78, has worked at Uphill’s Westhaven School, in Ellesmere Road, for 36 years.

Friends and family surprised Dee with an afternoon tea party on the last day of spring term.

Headteacher Tracy Towler said: “She has worked so hard over the years and we will miss her
greatly.”

Dee formerly worked at Uphill Manor, in Uphill Road South before moving to the specialist school.
