YOUNGSTERS at Banwell Primary School have kicked off the new year by tucking into the most important meal of the day at school.
The school’s new breakfast club has seen children getting stuck into healthy meals of cereals, toast and the occasional crumpet and bagel to get them ready for a day at school.
Various activities are on offer, ranging from crafts and books to more lively things in the school’s sports hall.
School bursar and club organiser Helen Burge said: “We have served up on average 20 breakfasts a day so far so the uptake has been really encouraging. It starts at around 8.15am so it is perfect for any parent who has to leave the house early.”
