PUPILS followed the footsteps of World War I British soldiers when they visited the battlefields of Belgium.
Year nine students visited Cheddar Villa, a British cemetery and Tyne Cot cemetery with graves of 11,000 soldiers, with thousands of bodies which have never been found.
They also had a tour of Ypres’ In Flanders Field museum.
Felicity Shorrock, a subject leader in history said: “This was a moving trip for our students and complemented their World War I History studies in school.
“I was proud of our students who were respectful throughout the visit and understood the poignancy of the Battlefields.”
