Children have a go at ice sculpting

YOUNGSTERS at Bournville Primary School in Weston had a go at sculpting ice when an artist paid them a visit.

As part of their ice quest topic, year five and six pupils at the school in Selworthy Road were visited by Sussex-based sculptor John Bolton created a piece of artwork and showed the children some of the tricks of his trade.

Teacher Marie Berry said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience such an unusual art form.

“John sculpted a penguin and even gave the children an opportunity to do their own carving.”
