YOUNG historians at Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College put their hands to work when learning about life in World War I.
The year 9 students worked in pairs to build model trenches to find out the conditions for men serving on the front line.
The homework projects were judged, with Jack and Mitchel Salisbury, Jack Whithers and Beth Keohane, and Charlotte Grubb receiving prizes.
History teacher Sarah Dalton said “I was really impressed with the quality of the work and the attention to detail, all the students really showed an excellent understanding of this important topic.”
The school also supported the British Legion Poppy Appeal this year, with a record number of poppies sold.
A number of students also attended remembrance ceremonies in Weston.
