A SCHOOL playground was turned into a temporary fairway while children tried their hand at putting during a golf taster day.

Locking Primary School welcomed an expert to teach the youngsters how to master the art of the hole-in-one using a makeshift course.

Pupils who chose not to go on the school camping trip in Brecon in Wales stayed behind for a week of fun-filled activities organised by the staff.

Headteacher Joanne Jones said: “The ones left took part in a range of activities including cooking, forest school, a trip to Slimbridge wetland reserve and a golf taster.

“We had a coach come from Worlebury Golf Club to give the children a lesson.”
