CLOCK experts are currently carefully renovating a village church tower and primary school pupils have had the chance to put their stamp on the renewal.

St Mary’s Church in Wedmore is being restored by Cumbria Clocks and experts have abseiled down the tower in front of a crowd of local onlookers.

Once the hands were removed, children from Wedmore First School signed the back of each hand to create a whole new form of time capsule.

The renovation works have been supported by 100 individual Friends of St Mary’s Church and by corporate supporters.
